This Drawing TECHNIQUE could change your ARTWORK...
Welcome to this episode of Draw Talk, in this one i talk a bit about a method to drawing that helped me create realistic artwork in pencil. I used to have trouble shading, and so i decided to focus on texturing. I found that whilst i was creating in depth and detailed textures, that it was also accompanying for elements such as shading, tone, light, shadow and form. Its something i wanted to share, and so i thought Draw Talk was the best place to do it. Tutorials coming soon, have yourselves a great day!

This 1-Point Perspective Drawing Tutorial is a drawing of the Cloisters at Lacock Abbey in England. A Cloister is a covered walkway, or open arcade running along the walls of buildings and forming a quadrangle. The Cloisters at Lacock Abbey were used in some of the Harry Potter films, for example when Harry discovers the Mirror of Erised. Lacock Abbey was also the home of William Henry Fox Talbot, the great photographer inventor.

Learn to Draw in 1-Point Perspective:
Start with drawing a cross in the middle of your page. this will be our Vanishing Point and all lines that are not vertical or horizontal will go towards this Vanishing Point.
Next draw a rectangle for the back wall of the room we are drawing.
Next draw four diagonal lines from the vanishing point, that go through the corners of your rectangle.
Now we have a shoe box shaped room in 1-Point Perspective!
Remember that the rectangles on the far wall will not be distorted and only the diagonal lines on the floor and the sides of the room will ALL end up at our Vanishing Point.

This 1-point Perspective drawing is a drawing of The Bridge of Sighs, a famous bridge in Venice, Italy. The Bridge of Sighs is an enclosed bridge which has square windows with stone bars. The Bridge of Sighs passes over the Rio di Palazzo and connects the interrogation rooms from the Doge's Palace to the New Prison on the other side of the Rio di Palazzo. The Bridge of Sighs was built in 1600 and was designed by Antonio Contino in 1600.
