In this tutorial I walk you through painting a black and white portrait in oil paint. As usual I'm using a Fredrix Blue Label canvas. I prefer these canvases because they are a polyflax/cotton blend that are triple primed for an ultra smooth surface, perfect for portraits and other fine detail work. Like all Fredrix canvases, they are extremely archival, important when you want your painting to last a lifetime. Today I'm giving you some tips on drawing / shading a cheetah in graphite to create realistic fur. I've used Ain 4b hi-polymer lead in a mechanical pencil (I can't find the 4b anymore. The "stein" line is not the same). A variety of derwent and prisma graphite pencils, shading tools, a tombow mono eraser, kneaded erasers and worked on Stonehenge vellum paper.

My Nano Reef Tank
My tank is 13.5 gallons featuring a large arch where I am growing green star polyps as my main coral with some purple mushrooms and three varieties of ricordia mushrooms on separate rocks. I have a Black Storm clownfish, a Helmeted Picasso clownfish, two cleaner shrimp, and several cleanup crew members (snails/crabs).
