And .........Have you ever read bull? Chances are it comes from the pages of a contemporary art magazine........We'll give you just as much caffeine in Matt Keeney's segment. Lets get started with Art subscriber rankings compiled by OrangeMonkey92.

The Google Art Project is kind of like Google maps street view...........but for art museums. The viewer can virtually walk through several of the most acclaimed museums in the world; including the Tate Gallery, London; the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City; and the Uffizi, Florence. Users can log in with their Google Account to create their own collection. YouTube has been fully integrated in to the Google art project because several partner museums have now opted to include guided video tour to their galleries. This provides users the option to virtually walk through a museum themselves and listen to an audio guide at certain artworks, or to follow a video tour as an expert guides them through a gallery.

Its a great resource! And its really cool of Google Tube to do this.....But we all wish that they would pay the same attention to contemporary YouTube artists. Thank goodness we have Yoz! Here is her segment.

It appears we have some breaking news. YouTube has pulled the plug on Topic Search, which to date was the best way to find specific genres of visual arts on youtube.


Youtube has given all visual artists a way to directly communicate with their audiences. Its called a live hangout. Executive Producer Merrill Kazanjian will now show you how to do a live hangout on your youtube channel.

YouTube has entered PBS Visual Arts Show Art21 in the on the rise competition for June 2012. The voting has ended and the winner will be announced on the YouTube Creators blog in a few days. YouTubers such as CartoonBlock and ThePortraitArt have been featured in this competition before. The winner gets featured on the YouTube Homepage and exposed to 1 Billion people.

One billion is a big number and for our 2D segment, Thad Taylor will introduce us to an artist who works big, His name is Barry Jazz Finnegan and he is not known by 1 billion people yet, but his legend is quickly growing. Lets take a look.

0:03 Hello all! Its Merrill! This is how I draw from my "head". I have a lot more fun doing it this way! 0:15 I have been really enjoying this Football season. And I have spent TOO MUCH TIME doing ESPN's Fantasy Football! ........So much time that it actually inspired some art! 0:26 The sketch is only the first part of this drawing......STAY TUNED. I have a very unorthodox process that enables me to refine and alter my drawing several times.
I change my mind a lot, so this process FITS me. Every artist should search for a medium / process that FITS them!!!!! 0:51 No left arm and no face......I will add them digitally in a little bit. 1:02 I am using AD Chartpak markers to apply some quick color........Im going for the first down at this point....not the Hail Mary pass for a touchdown! 1:20 The markers run a bit, so I am using a decolor opaque paint marker to refine the edges for the skin. This marker will completely hide the marks from the Ad Chartpak illustration markers. 1:42 Colored Pencils add an interesting texture to the chair.......BUT.....you will LATER see that I decided to scrap the chair for a better idea later in this video. 2:08 For the record, my Fantasy Football team is getting CRUSHED as I am writing this! ARGH!!!!
I have Peyton Manning and Michael Vick as my QB's.....That would be fantastic in any other year but this year! 2:27 Behold!!!! The ANCIENT Paint Shop Pro X.....It still works! 2:43 I scanned my drawing on my scanner to get it on my computer screen.
Then, I opened it up in Paint Shop Pro.
I found the images on Creative Commons search. 3:09 I mostly use the Warp Brush, The blending brush and the digital scissor tool. 3:30 I used the eye dropper tool to match the flesh tone and then the paintbrush tool on 50% opacity to tone the arms. 3:56 Thumbs up if you LIKE the triumphant music as I add the top of the head!!!!! 4:12 SEE! You sometimes get BETTER ideas while MAKING a work of art! Sure, I worked hard on the chair. But, I will never let a PREVIOUS effort affect FUTURE creativity!!!!!!! 4:33 Now I have to fit his FAT A$$ on the COUCH!!!!! 5:17 I was really excited to find this couch on craigslist.com.....not because I wanted to buy it......I just wanted to use the picture!

I have created over 500 illustrated characters in 2008. This video shows about 100 of them. Each character has one pose (with the exception of my animations) and are interchangeable in my compositions. I digitally juxtapose my characters over digital photos-where I feel that they fit. (Please see what I mean on my website Merrillk.com.) Some characters have been used only once and some have been used dozens of times. I strive for each character to become iconic and to make my work easily identifiable. Some characters are actual people (friends of mine or well known celebrities) and some are created as caricatures based upon people that I have interacted with in life situations.

My friend Al Alvir has a very popular Boxing/Mixed Martial Arts blog- http://shootafairone.com/ and I decided to create a character for one of the writers he has on staff (O'Toole). Allen is a big fan of Mike Tyson (heavyweight champion) and his legendary trainer Cus D'Amato who also trained managed Floyd Patterson (olympic and heavyweight champion) and Jose Torres (light heavyweight champion) so I made this character with D'Amato in mind. I used D'Amato reference photos for my initial drawing but also had fictional "Rocky" trainer Mickey Goldmill in mind (portrayed by Burgess Meredith). Using these two icons; one from pop culture one from reality, gave me an interesting image to illustrate. In this video, I documented my process.

I started out with a pencil drawing that was based on reference photos of Cus D'Amato and fictional character Mickey Goldmill. Next, I cut out two boxing gloves from a photograph and glued them down. Then, I added a layer of illustration marker to quickly put down some color. I followed the markers with a layer of color pencil and I exadurated the wrinkles. I also use color pencil to prime the artwork for painting. Then I added some paint. The paint mixes very well with the color pencil. Next I scanned the artwork and opened it up in Paint Shop Pro 9. I didnt like the pose of the body so I changed it. (Arent digital possibilities wonderful?) I juxtaposed hands legs and feet. Then I printed it again. The print is like a dried layer of paint. I started layering with color pencil again and I followed it up with oil paint. Mixing traditional mediums with digital technologies is called tradigital art.

I hope you enjoy the video. I drew a scene from the 1981 Horror movie "The Evil Dead" written/directed by Sam Rami; starting Bruce Campbell, Ellen Sandweiss, Richard DeManincor, Betsy Baker, & Theresa Tilly. I was really exited for the Evil Dead Remake, unfortunately it wasn't all that great. Nonetheless the original Evil Dead is still a great horror movie, and that is why i decided to draw this scene. Anyways, I used ballpoint pens and color pencils to draw this and it took me about 7-8 total hours. Please share this video with fans of horror movies. Thanks for watching! :D

Here is a drawing in memory of the great "Roberto Gómez Bolaños" A.K.A. Chespirito. For those who may have not known who he was, he was a Mexican comedian, actor, director and Television icon. He was most famous for his comedic shows "El Chavo del Ocho" and "El Chapulin Colorado". I grew up watching his shows, and i still watch them to this day. He was a big part of my childhood, so it's only right I pay tribute. R.I.P Chespirito

Hello YouTube, I hope you enjoy this drawing video as much as i enjoyed making it. Let me Know what you think of it. This drawing was inspired by the incredible artwork of one of my favorite artists of all time M. C. Escher. The original artwork which i used as inspiration and refrence is called "Hand with Reflecting Sphere" 1935. i thought it would be a good idea to combine the greatness of Escher and Star Wars. This drawing is done on smooth bristol paper using ballpoint pen and colored pencils. Please share this video with star wars fans and May The Force Be With You! ;)

I call this piece "The Beekeeper". I made this drawing specifically for the art competition Artist Dino Tomic is holding on INSTAGRAM and in his other social media sites.
