Angry Leprechaun- Mixed Media Illustration Techniques- Marker, Color Pencil (Time Lapse)

A demonstration of an illustration technique with illustration markers and color pencils. See more of my work Here: http://merrillk.com One hour compressed in to less than one minute (Time Lapse). A time lapse / speed draw demonstration in time for St. Patrick's day. I used a mixed media approach to draw this character. I used illustration markers (prismacolor and AD), color pencils and acrylic paint. The color pencils are great for detail and the illustration markers are a fast way to lay down base color. I used only white acrylic paint to cover some mistakes on the sides of the head. I also used a paint brush and mineral spirits (turpentine, turpenoid, paint thinner) to blend the color pencil to give this angry Leprechaun a more realistic look. I made the body separately and I used Photoshop to attatch the head to the body.(Check out some of my tradigital videos to see how I do that). Special Halloween Paint With Me LIVE!! Lachri

Paint a pumpkin and raven with me on this special Halloween livestream! Here is what you want to do before the stream starts so that you can paint along with me:

1) Paint your canvas a solid dark color. Because of the brush strokes we will be painting over it, it won't matter if you have any streaks in your paint. I'm going to paint mine purple but you can go with anything you like. Remember it will get even darker when we add our black brush strokes over it, so don't go straight black.

2) Go to https://www.patreon.com/posts/22321606 to download your reference photo and line drawing for this project. You don't need to be a patron to get these photos, they are free for everyone! Note: I do not normally provide line drawings but because we don't have a single reference photo for this project I will have one for you for this project :)

3) Either draw out everything with a white charcoal pencil or use tracing and transfer paper to transfer your image onto your dark background base color. If you don't know how to use tracing/transfer paper watch this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lPoW6Xjj8Y&t=611s
