Going through all your hand assignments, I noticed most of them have one main issue. They lack structure. Constructing the hand from basic forms and following the primary - secondary - tertiary hierarchy resolves many other issues. It helps to draw the hand accurately from imagination, attach the fingers correctly to the palm, keep things in perspective, and even helps to shade. I’ll also show you how a focus on structure doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice gesture.

This exercise will teach you how to exaggerate a person’s face and body using common animals and objects. These are things that usually have an uncanny resemblance to your subject and are meant for people that already make good caricature subjects. Demonstration of abstract painting in acrylic paints. Background is created giving wash of burnt siena, vermilion red and black. Sprinkled some water on the wash with spray bottle. Wiped with cotton cloth to create grunge texture. After creating background started painting with palette knife using heavy body acrylic paints. Done lots of blending with cotton cloth and sometimes with thumb. Given some linear effects keeping paper for straight lines. Just feeling happy with the end results.

Tools used : palette knife, cotton cloth, spray water bottle, zero number brush and acrylic liners for random writings.

Colors : burnt siena, black (fluid) and vermilion red for washes.

Aqua blue, cobalt blue, golden yellow, lemon yellow, orange, white and vermilion red (heavybody) for palette knife application.
