So, as someone who has used water-soluble oils for some time now, I am SO CURIOUS why you dislike them so much. I have debated switching to regular oil paint many times, but tend to get bogged down by the range of brand options. Is there something I'm missing out on by using them vs. regular oil paint? I'm draiwing a big cat in this tutorial! In this is a colored pencil demonstration showing you how to blend with powder blender. I'm going to focus on drawing realistic fur detail too!

I'm working in Faber-Castell Polychromos for the blended portions and details and Caran d'Ache Luminance for some of the more opaque details and white areas of the fur.
