Что стало с Nokia? Куда пропал лидер мобильного рынка?
Сегодня мы поговорим о Nokia и разберём 2 вопроса:
Во-первых, узнаем разницу между уверенностью и надменностью в процессе развития успешного бизнеса.
И, во-вторых, убедимся в том, что преуспеть в одном – ещё не значит преуспеть в другом.
Компания Nokia, как это ни странно, начинала как бумажная фабрика, еще в XIX веке. Но в какой-то момент, до 1992 стала заниматься производством беспроводных телефонов. Очень качественных и компактных телефонов. И очень простых. Без экзотики, без инноваций. Их инновация была в том, что они могли производить миллионы таких телефонов каждый месяц, с минимальными тратами, и выводить их на рынок.
Стиль, функции и будущие инновации – это не их конёк. У них были простые, компактные, качественные, и главное недорогие телефоны. Порой их даже раздавали бесплатно (Вы заключали контракт на 2 года, и Вам выдавали такой телефон). Но в какой-то момент всё изменилось.
Компания была абсолютно уверена в том, что останется лидером индустрии, и её доля на рынке к 1998 году составляла 52%. Она ежемесячно выпускала на рынок миллионы своих телефонов. И была чертовски самоуверенна.
Многие операторы жаловались, что с ней очень трудно договориться. Что Nokia – это «сила, с которой нужно считаться». Все говорили, что ей присуща большая самоуверенность, но как мы вскоре узнаем, это была надменность.
А в чём их различие?
Уверенный человек просто вступает в игру, а надменный –
сразу считает себя победителем. Теряет бдительность, и его очень легко застать врасплох. Что и случилось с компанией Nokia, когда весь мир начал двигаться в сторону контента.
В то время компании Samsung и Motorola уже начинали выпускать более крупные телефоны, со всеми преимуществами крутых чипов от Qualcomm. Увеличивали батареи, чтобы повысить возможности. А что делала Nokia? Слегка увеличила батарею, добавила цветной дисплей, но… Она почти не развивала область контента. Старалась втиснуть различные опции в свои старые компактные телефончики.
А у Motorola, если помните, уже была модель RAZR – один из лучших и самых популярных телефонов, с большим экраном и удобными кнопками, идеальными для игр, SMS и других задач, с которыми справляются современные телефоны.
А Nokia всё сидела со своими «батончиками», с набором базовых функций. Они попросту отставали.
И к тому же с ними было сложно сотрудничать: ограничения телефонов от Nokia почти не давали контент-мейкерам развернуться.
В 2007 доля Nokia на мировом рынке составляла 52%. И что было дальше в 2007? Миру представили первый iPhone. И создатели контента уже тогда знали, что за ним будущее.
А ещё была компания Danger, которую вскоре купила компания Google. И вот уже Google, не производившая ни мобильники, ни софт, вступила в игру. А Nokia всё сидела на месте. Компания не понимала, что преуспеть в одном (быстро выпускать миллионы мобильников) – не значит преуспеть в другом (в мире, которым правит контент; где нужна память, большие дисплеи и опции; и где мы могли бы выходить в Интернет, играть в игры, и т.д.).
В итоге, между 2007 и 2012 доля Nokia упала с 52% вплоть до 2%. И всему виной излишняя самоуверенность на своей высокой позиции. Они не покупали компании, имея такую возможность. И недооценили важность контента.
А закончилось всё в 2014. Microsoft выкупила то, что осталось от Nokia, за 7,2 миллиарда долларов. А уже через год, когда её доля снова упала, они списали в убыток 7,6 миллиардов. А Nokia с её патентами продали оффшорной компании. И если Вы сегодня увидите мобильники Nokia, то это заслуги той самой компании. Но уже не былого гиганта.
Который в 2007, с долей 52%, продал более 450 миллионов телефонов.

Техника, на которую я снимаю:
Для звука я использую петличку Rode SmartLav+, воткнутую прямо в камеру через удлинитель и переходник. У камеры для этого должен быть хороший предусилитель на входе (в принципе, годятся все камеры, кроме Canon), и комнату стоит оборудовать для правильной акустики. Когда-нибудь я сделаю об этом видео.

Камера LUMIX G7 — имхо, лучшая камера для съемки формата «говорящая голова». Если не надо снимать с рук (хотя и это реально делать, просто надо запариться со стабилизацией), то по цене и простоте работы она легко утирает нос GH5.
