Today I'm reviewing the Faber-Castell Polychromos and the Caran d'Ache Luminance colored pencils. I will talk about the main differences between these pencils and do a demonstration using both brands. These are my personal views and experiences with these two products. I'm using mona lisa odorless paint thinner to blend my pencils for the demonstration.

Today I'm going to walk you through everything from the supplies I use, to how I blend my paint and even show you how to complete your first oil painting using glazing techniques!

Oil painting has this reputation for being a more advanced medium to work in. People think it's going to be too hard and everyone's heard about the trouble with muddy colors. I will let you in on a little secret; Oil painting is one of the easier mediums to work in IF you know how to use mixing medium and when to let your paint dry between layers.

In this speed painting video I demonstrate how I painted a greyhound. My focus on this piece was dramatic lighting. My underpainting is completed using acrylic paint (liquitex basics) before I move onto oil paint (winsor and newton).
