In this time lapse painting demonstration, I'm going to give you tips and techniques on how to blend acrylic paints using the wet into wet technique and a mop brush for clouds and tulips. I will also show you how to paint easy clouds and to use a single action hobby kit airbrush to keep your acrylic paint wet longer!

Today I'm going to walk you through everything from the supplies I use, to how I blend my paint and even show you how to complete your first oil painting using glazing techniques!

Oil painting has this reputation for being a more advanced medium to work in. People think it's going to be too hard and everyone's heard about the trouble with muddy colors. I will let you in on a little secret; Oil painting is one of the easier mediums to work in IF you know how to use mixing medium and when to let your paint dry between layers.

In this time lapse painting video I demonstrate how to paint a barn owl against a wood grain fence. This was completed in July of 2013.

Today's art question is "I would never think of reproducing or taking credit for anyone else's work. I do print out images which have features I want in my image. As I improve I am getting better at simply viewing them quickly without having to keep them around. My work always ends up as my own so is it right to view these images as a reference while I'm working on mine?"

This video covers some basic techniques used in blending colored pencils. I show you how you can use the prismacolor colorless blenders, the Derwent colorless blender, the Derwent burnisher, and paint thinner. First we will go over the basics of each type of blending method and then I will do a time lapse demonstration of each method in practice.
