I'm showing you the basics to blending colored pencils with Odorless Mineral Spirits or Odorless Paint Thinner! I've got tips and techniques for colored pencil blending perfect for a beginner! This technique works on oil or wax based pencils. I'm using my Polychromos for this demonstration but I've had great results in blending Caran d'Ache Luminance, Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor and prismacolor in this way.

Today I'm sharing my favorite method to varnish my acrylic paintings. There are TONS of different ways to do this, please share your favorite products and methods in the comments for others to learn from!! These are my favorite varnishing techniques and tips!

I've been hesitant to share how I varnish just because I don't want to give you guys bad advice. I'm not following the direction of these products because of how I use the two together. I've found a way that works quite well for me, but if someone were to apply a heavier coat or not enough of the matte finish, I can't promise that you will get the same results that I do. PLEASE try this on a small project before you use my techniques on something you've put a lot of time into. I can not tell you if my methods will work great for your way of painting, paint type or canvas type. This is just what has worked well for me over the years!

We've all been there. Painting happily then the dreaded drop of paint in the wrong place happens. Don't worry, this isn't the end of the world...or even a big deal at all! I'm going to show you some tips and techniques on to fix a mistake in acrylic paints.

Keep in mind, this only works well with quality acrylics. I've seen some acrylics that when dry will still lift from the canvas when they got wet. I'm using liquitex basics for this demonstration. The mistake will erase easily with this method!

Today I'm showing you how to paint a wave. I'm working in acrylic paints, but this would be done the same in oil paint, just with a longer wait time in between each layer.
