Sometimes after the discipline of larger work, especially oil paintings, it's good to just take a step back and relax with something simple and fun. Painting flowers has always been a therapeutic peaceful practice for me and something I've never gotten sick of. Sharing my thoughts on copying other people's work and not crediting them while creating an oil painting of sunflowers from my garden, in my moleskine sketchbook. I prime my moleskine with gesso before painting so that the oil paint has something to bind to instead of the paper.
