How to Draw like Leonardo da Vinci
Drawing by Tom McPherson
Circle Line Art School
Leonardo da Vinci was born in 1452 in Vinci in Italy and loved to draw. He kept notebooks which are full of his thoughts and observations in words and sketches.
Leonardo is famous for painting the Mona Lisa, perhaps the most famous painting in the world. It is now in The Louvre in Paris. There are only around fifteen of his paintings that have survived, but there are many of his notebooks and drawings.
He drew whatever he was interested in and drawing was a way for him to understand what he was seeing. Sometimes his drawings are preparatory studies for parts of paintings.
Leonardo da Vinci thought that all artists should keep a notebook or sketchbook to record what they see and notice before they forgot it.
Leonardo da Vinci died in 1519 in Amboise in France.

In this drawing I show you a simple way to draw a face of a man, step by step. There are many ways to draw a portrait of a man, but most will start with a loose oval and then make some marks to indicate the features of the face. Once the basic positions of the eyes, mouth, nose, ears and neck are penciled in, then it is a good time to draw both eyes of the face you are drawing. The details of the drawing are worked out towards the end.
I hope you find this drawing useful for your own drawings. Thank you for watching and see you soon!

How to Draw in 1-Point Perspective: Draw a Building: Draw The British Museum Step by Step: Circle Line Art School: Episode 228
The first step is to draw a horizontal line slightly higher than halfway up your page,
next draw a across in the middle of this line,
this will be the vanishing point for this one point perspective drawing,
from this vanishing point, draw two diagonal lines to the left and then two diagonal lines to the right,
and now in between both of the diagonal lines on the right we need two vertical lines and then two vertical lines on the left hand side as
well again between the two diagonal lines,
now on the right we can draw a triangle above this rectangle that we've got in 1- point perspective, the middle of the triangle needs to be a little bit towards the centre vanishing point, so it's not in the exact centre, but it's a bit towards the left,
and then we can make this the side of a building, by drawing a series of columns and windows in between columns,
now the British Museum has a circular building in its core, which once was the British Library Reading Room,
to draw this circular building in 1-point perspective we can extend these two vertical lines on either side of our drawing,
and now draw an ellipse, which is just a circle seen on its side on the top and the bottom of these two vertical lines, so we've got a sort of drum like shape in the middle of our drawing,
I find it best to draw the full ellipse, even though we'll only be using the front part of each of the ellipses for our drawing,
next we can draw another facade of a building on the left, this time the centre of the triangle of this building will be towards the right, but again towards the vanishing point which is in the centre of the page,
for the bottom of the columns, we can make a small curve to show that they are three dimensional cylinders,
next, if we draw a line from the vanishing point to the far right base of
the ellipse and then another line, from the vanishing point again, to the far left base of the ellipse and then a horizontal line at the back of the ellipse and then another horizontal line at the front of the ellipse, we've sort of made a square which goes around the ellipse, a circle at the base of our drawing, now for this square in one point perspective, if we draw two diagonal lines, point to point, from the diagonals, where these two diagonals meet, that will be the centre of our ellipse, and that's very useful for this drawing because from this centre point of the ellipse we can work out where the stairs go either side of the cylinder, now all of the stairs go from lines that start at the centre of the ellipse or directly above the centre of the ellipse, as the stairs rise, so their starting point will rise as the stairs rise, but it will always be
in the centre of the ellipse, the stairs have staggered in blocks with flat areas in between each of the rises, as the stairs go left and right, as they rise, we will need to draw the curved retaining wall that holds the stairs in place.

Perspective Drawing: 1-Point Perspective Tutorial: Draw a Road: Manga Background: Step by Step
Step 1:
Draw a horizontal line in the middle of your page. This is the height of the eye of the viewer of the drawing.
Step 2:
Draw a cross, a vanishing point, in the middle of this line. This is the point where parallel lines will look like they meet, in 1-point perspective.
Step 3:
Draw some curved lines from the vanishing point to the bottom of your page, these will be the lines for a curved road, let there be bigger gaps between the curves as they approach the bottom of your page.
Step 4:
Draw a vertical line for the corner of a street. Draw a diagonal line from the top and the bottom of this vertical line, both going to our vanishing point. This will be the side of the road.
Step 5:
Draw a simple rectangle, for the front of the first building, using the vertical line we just drew.
Step 6:
Draw another vertical line for a telegraph pole, draw a diagonal from the top and the base to the vanishing point and now draw more telegraph poles between these two diagonal lines.
Extra Steps:
Well, in this drawing we draw more buildings in perspective, I draw a bicycle in perspective, a road in perspective, buildings in perspective and telegraph poles in perspective, a fence in perspective. Once you have your drawing in perspective, you could add details, shadows and tone using some black pens.

Learn to draw a room with One Point Linear Perspective, step by step, in real time. In this video I narrate one way to draw a realistic room using linear one point perspective, from the single vanishing point to the last detail.
In this video I am going to show you how to draw a room
using one point perspective you start
with a dot
in the center of the page the dot is going
to be the vanishing point
then around the dot you draw a rectangle
using as straight a line as you can manage
and each line of
the rectangle should be parallel
to the edges the paper
next you find the
dot in the center this is your vanishing point
and all the diagonal lines
end up here
you can read from the perspective point to the corner of the rectangle
and then you continue that line to the
edge of the paper
so from the vanishing point you read to
them to the corner of the rectangle
and finish at the edge of the paper
you repeat this four times and then you
have
what is a box in perspective a shoe box or in this case a room
we can now add a door
we need to work out where the door would go
it needs to go slightly above the center of the back wall
and line at the top of the door needs to
be parallel
to the top rectangle that you started with
next from the vanishing point we can fond the corners of the thickness of the wall
those two lines would go towards the vanishing point
the upright is a vertical line that should be parallel to your other vertical lines
horizontal lines top and bottom of the
door frame will be horizontal to all the
other lines you have in the drawing!
