This 1-point Perspective drawing is a drawing of The Bridge of Sighs, a famous bridge in Venice, Italy. The Bridge of Sighs is an enclosed bridge which has square windows with stone bars. The Bridge of Sighs passes over the Rio di Palazzo and connects the interrogation rooms from the Doge's Palace to the New Prison on the other side of the Rio di Palazzo. The Bridge of Sighs was built in 1600 and was designed by Antonio Contino in 1600.
For this drawing I use a 4B pencil and an A4 piece of paper.

How to Draw a 3D City Map Bird's Eye View Step by Step:
1:To draw each building, you only need to draw the top of the roof!
2: Add some chimneys to give a feeling of scale
3: Add tone to one side of each roof, I use hatching and crosshatching; shading with parallel lines
4: The last step is to add dark shadows to one side of each building, these are important as they give the impression of the shape and size of the buildings.
For this drawing I just made the shapes up, as it was easier that way.

Learn to Draw in 1-Point Perspective:
Start with drawing a cross in the middle of your page. this will be our Vanishing Point and all lines that are not vertical or horizontal will go towards this Vanishing Point.
Next draw a rectangle for the back wall of the room we are drawing.
Next draw four diagonal lines from the vanishing point, that go through the corners of your rectangle.
Now we have a shoe box shaped room in 1-Point Perspective!
Remember that the rectangles on the far wall will not be distorted and only the diagonal lines on the floor and the sides of the room will ALL end up at our Vanishing Point.

For perspective drawing to work you need to draw a horizontal line on which you can place one dot anywhere along this line for One Point Perspective, or two dots which are far apart from each other for Two Point Perspective.
These dots on the horizontal line are your Vanishing Points. A vanishing point is where two parallel lines look like they meet together.
The horizontal line is called the Horizon Line and this line represents the height of the eye of the viewer of your image. As the artist, you are the viewer.
The music for this How to Draw Stairs video is called How It Began and is by Silent Partner.
The drawing for this video took about half an hour.
I used a 4B pencil for this drawing.
