In this video I start to take on the ground details. I have been putting them off for quit some time. I started out by filling in the ground area with a tone of HB. When I do this, it makes it easier for me to create and add details on top of it.

I decided to draw in some grass by the tree. It acts as a nice filler but it also looks really nice. I start drawing grass by adding in simple lines. Using a sharper pencil makes the process easier. After making a series of grass like lines, I use an eraser to start creating the blades of grass. Once that is done, going back in to add in some shadows and other details is what really brings it all together. For the other areas of the ground, I decided to leave it just as a gradient and it looked quite nice.

I hope you all enjoyed this edtion to the summer in the mountain series and I look forward to seeing you all for part 6!
