For this drawing I used a 4B pencil, an eraser, some watercolour paper and some watercolour paint.
Learn how to draw a simple road with trees in one point perspective in this art drawing for beginners. I then show you one way to paint with watercolor, a watercolor sunset with trees and a road.
Step 1:
Draw a horizon
Step 2:
Draw a dot or vanishing point on the horizontal line
Step 3:
Draw some diagonal lines from this vanishing point, two for the road or path and some more for the base line and tops of the avenue of trees
Step 4:
Draw a tree trunk that fits within these diagonal lines
Step 5:
Draw more trees, getting smaller and closer together as they approach the vanishing point on the horizon
Step 6:
Draw the branches of the trees, split then with "V" shapes to get smaller branches
Step 7:
Add some detail and shading to the trees
Step 9:
Draw a sunset and some textures
Step 10:
Colour in the picture
Step 11:
For this drawing I used watercolour paper, which is thicker than drawing paper, and watercolour paints in solid pans. I painted areas of the drawing with water first and then added some paint, so the watercolour would spread [wet on wet]. Later I let the paint dry and then painting again [wet on dry]

In this time-lapse art video you can follow one way to draw realistic hair.
For this drawing I used a 4B pencil and started off with very loose pencil marks. The aim in the first few marks is to get an impression of the form and direction of the hair and the shapes you can see. The key is to start with these basic shapes, looking all the time and drawing what you see rather than what you think should be there. Over time a structure of the head and the hair appears and then you can work up the tone, shading light and dark. Towards the very end of the drawing is the time to add the details. This might seem odd, but most times in a tonal drawing, of hair or anything else, the details you can clearly see at the beginning of your drawing are the last things that you draw. So for most of the drawing you are really drawing the things that are a little hidden, the structure and connections. For this drawing tutorial I used a pencil to draw the temple and then I painted the landscape drawing in with watercolour. I used masking fluid for the snow: you can paint the masking fluid on, let it dry, paint over it with watercolour, let that dry, then rub off the masking fluid, leaving the white of the paper. If you don't use masking fluid you can paint around the snow areas or just not add falling snow!

How to Draw Buildings: A Village in Santorini
Learn how to draw a face of a man step by step in this narrated pencil drawing, based on Michelangelo's statue of David.

For this drawing you just need some soft pencils (4B or 6B), a piece of paper, an eraser and a little time.
This is a narrated drawing that starts with a very easy way to draw a face for beginners. Learn the main techniques of how to add tone and shading to your drawing by creating a graded contrast between areas of light and dark.
In this art tutorial there are seven basic steps, you might find it useful to pause the video at each step. It is important to keep your drawing loose for as long as you can, always ready to change what you have as soon as you see a part of your drawing that could be improved, so it is a process of continuous drawing and questioning, questioning how the lines, shapes and tones work together. Fortunately Michelangelo has worked it all out for us!
This drawing took me an hour to complete and if you give yourself a similar amount of time I think you can learn a great deal from looking at how Michelangelo created his art.
The sculpture "David" is a masterpiece of Renaissance art created by Michelangelo between 1501 and 1504. The statue of a man was commissioned for the roofline of Florence Cathedral, Italy, but at 17 feet tall and more than 6 tons in weight another place had to be found to display it in Florence.
On the 13th September 1501 Michelangelo began his carving. He was just 26 years old!

To find the lines of perspective from a photograph, look for two parallel lines and extend them towards the center, where they meet is a single point, called a Vanishing Point.
All parallel lines will meet at this point and it will always be on the Horizon Line, so draw a horizontal line through the Vanishing Point to find the Horizon Line.
The horizon Line is also the height of the eye of the person who took the photograph. take the photograph from a different height and you will have a different Horizon Line.
1-Point Perspective is when we are looking directly ahead. If you are also looking left and right, you should find two vanishing points; 2-Point Perspective!

How to Draw in 1-Point Perspective for Beginners: Draw a House in 1-Point Perspective Step by Step: Circle Line Art School: Episode 278.
The first step is to draw a horizontal line in the bottom third of your page, next draw a rectangle with a triangle roof on the right, then draw a across on the left and another on the horizontal line, this will be the vanishing point for this 1-point perspective drawing. All parallel lines going towards this one vanishing point will look like they meet at the vanishing point, if you extended the lines all the way to the horizon.

Start with a sketch of an oval, you can change it later.
Then draw a line down the centre of your oval and across the centre too.
Add a simple almond shape eye either side of the vertical line and on the horizontal line you drew.
Then just add a small mark for the tip of the nose and another small mark between the tip of the nose and the base of the chin, for the mouth.
Try not to add too many lines to the nose and draw each eye together, so you are looking at her eyes and seeing if the match and if they are looking at you.
I used a 4B pencil for this portrait drawing, as I think you get a good range of tones with a 4B.
