This is one of many black roses I've designed in a tribal style. Once you have your basic layout down you can then go in and simplify the design and mark out the petals and then go around it in ink. In this design I make sure there is at least half a centimeter gap between each petal.

In this video I will show you how to draw an ambigram using the word 'LOVE'. It reads the same if you flip it upside down. This sketchy process is the same method I use when drawing up ambigram tattoo designs. With this sketch I would draw it up again neat and make the lines taper at the ends giving it a tribal appearance. There are many different font styles you can use for ambigrams. How to draw Donald Duck in a tribal tattoo design style.

I first roughly draft out Donald Duck and then erase the lines just enough so I can still make out the lines then I go in and add more detail.. I do this a couple of times until I am happy with the layout. Once I'm satisfied I erase the lines again then work in some tribal marks...
